THE WONDER OF VETERANS BLVD
Written by Brad Breckenridge
It was a Wednesday evening, and the sun was dropping below the horizon.
Darkness was filling the void. The church service started at 7:30, I was told, and turning west off of South Sixth and up ahead a few blocks, an old adobe duplex provided the only illumination. I slowly drove past and parked my truck on the side street. This was it.
Wilderness Parents Joshua 5
Thank you for taking the time to read this chapter from my book, Divine Wilderness: Discovering God in Difficult Seasons. I hope you find it both encouraging and thought-provoking.
This chapter, "Wilderness Parents," was inspired by the striking contrast between the generation that faithfully circumcised their children while living as slaves in Egypt and the generation that neglected that same responsibility while wandering in the wilderness. It explores the reality that seasons of hardship can either deepen our faithfulness or tempt us to relax our spiritual priorities—and that our choices inevitably shape our children. My prayer is that this chapter encourages parents to remain faithful in teaching, training, and modeling a wholehearted walk with God, even in life's most difficult seasons.
If you enjoy the chapter and would like to read more, Divine Wilderness: Discovering God in Difficult Seasons is available on Amazon.
Aging Gracefully
Written by Bill Cox
We hear the phrase often that “we are an aging Fellowship” or people will speak of their own local assembly as, “We’re an aging church.” Of course, this is true.
One challenge for our movement is the very nature of the miracle that God wrought through Pastor Mitchell and in the larger Jesus Revolution, which was a young people’s movement. While much of the traditional church world seemed increasingly old and irrelevant, the Holy Spirit touched a generation. Fortunately, a new generation of workers and fervent believers is rising up today.
Salt and Light
The Bullseye is a Salt Shaker; a new medium for spreading the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to give the Church another platform from which to put forth a biblical worldview.
We seek to challenge the deception in our culture, to glorify Christ through testimonies, and to share biblical wisdom and instruction that will help encourage godly families.
