Baptism: Water & Spirit

Scripture teaches two baptisms: water baptism and baptism in the Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit, and He said that every believer should follow Him in this step of obedience (1,2,3).

Water baptism publicly declares your faith, showing you have died to your old life and risen with Christ (4,5). It’s a reference point, marking your commitment and new identity.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift God gives to empower believers (6,7). The Spirit gives strength, spiritual gifts, and new desires. He helps you witness, serve, pray deeply, and be built up (8,9).

Prayer:

“Jesus, thank You for Your example. Fill me with Your Spirit. Help me walk boldly and serve You with all my heart.”

Reflection:
If you haven’t been baptized, write questions to discuss with your pastor. If you have, reflect on what it meant to you.
