MEMORY VERSE: Revelation 21:5a “Then the one seated on the throne said, ‘Look, I am making everything new.” (CSB)

5th GRADE

BIBLE TIME PERIOD: RETURN & SILENCE (Nehemiah)

MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 29:11-12

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

In class we explored the return of God’s People to Jerusalem, and the rebuilding of the city walls under Nehemiah’s leadership.

  • Because the gracious hand of God was on Nehemiah, how did King Artaxerxes help Nehemiah rebuild the wall in Jerusalem?

  • Explain the context of our memory verse, Jeremiah 29:11-12.  What was God’s plan for Judah’s prosperity, hope and future?

  • Describe a time in your life when you experienced something difficult, maybe even because of your own sin, that God used to change you and restore you.

6th GRADE

LESSON 2: INFORMATION ALWAYS COMES FROM AN INTELLIGENT SOURCE

MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 1:16-17 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

This week, we discussed how some things start accidentally, whereas other things start purposefully.

As a family, list several things in your house that came about purposefully.

How can you tell that these things started purposefully?

Each of the items you listed probably gives you information or shows a purposeful design. As a family, spend time thanking God for designing each of you, as well as the world we live in.
