KINDER - 4th GRADE

LESSON 3: REMEMBER GOD’S TRUTH (Jude 3-4:17-25)

MEMORY VERSE: Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

  • What things might make it hard for believers to stand strong in the faith?

  • Who guides us and helps us remember God’s truth?

  • What could you do as a family to remember God’s truth together?

5th GRADE

BIBLE TIME PERIOD: DIVIDED KINGDOM

MEMORY VERSE: Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

Due to King Solomon’s rebellion against God, and his son King Rehoboam’s foolishness, the kingdom was split into the northern kingdom (Israel) and the southern kingdom (Judah).

  • Why was God angry with Solomon?

  • Why didn’t God tear the kingdom away from Solomon?

  • How did God keep His covenant with David and the people of Judah and Israel?

  • How does this strengthen your faith and confidence in God’s promises?

Josiah was one of the good kings of Judah.  He was only eight years old when he became king.  Read about his story in 2 Chronicles 34-35.

6th GRADE

LESSON 5: WHAT SHOULD I WORSHIP?

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 22:36-38

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

This week, we compared the Christian worldview to naturalism, new spirituality, Islam, and postmodernism. As a family, review what each worldview worships.

Christianity: God

Naturalism: Matter

New Spirituality: Yourself

Islam: Allah

Postmodernism: Your community

Talk about some of the ways that you worship God as a family and on your own.

Is there anything that you do that shows that you might be worshiping some of these other people or objects?

What can you do to change this?

Spend time praying as a family, asking that God would help you to worship Him only. Pray for your friends and neighbors who follow other worldviews. Ask God to give you opportunities to share with them the Truth that we are designed to worship God.

7th - 8TH GRADE

This year for 7th and 8th grade Quest will be delving into Proverbs, exploring how to apply biblical wisdom to everyday life. Our goal is to build a strong relationship with God and make Jesus our anchor as we navigate life.

Recognizing the Right Road (Proverbs 2:9-15)

  • How would you define a good friend?

  • Compare your definition of a good friend with how you might describe “knowledge will become a good friend to your soul.” (v.10)

  • “Sound judgment will stand guard over you…” (v. 11). Another way to say this might be, “wise choices keep you safe…” Do you agree or disagree? Why?
