KINDER - 4th GRADE

LESSON 2: PAUL BEFORE RULERS (Acts 24:22-27; 25:1-14; 26:24-32)

MEMORY VERSE: Philippians 1:20-21 “My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” (CSB) Note: The song is only the underlined part of the verse.

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

  • How do you think Paul felt as he spoke before rulers? How do you think he felt being in custody for two years?

  • What is God’s plan for us? How do you expect that to happen?

  • Does God always work in ways we expect or understand?

5th GRADE

BIBLE TIME PERIOD: SLAVERY & EXODUS (EXODUS)

MEMORY VERSE: Romans 3:23-24

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

  • God just brought His people out of slavery.  Why did God need to give Moses specific laws about how His people should live and be different than the nations around them?

  • The Savior of the World was going to come through the nation of Israel.  Now, as Christians, we bring Jesus to the world.  Why should we be set apart and live differently than the world around us?

  • What was the purpose of the tabernacle that God instructed Moses to make?

6th GRADE

LESSON 1: WHAT SHOULD I WORSHIP?

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 22:36-38

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

This week, we discussed what a worldview is and compared a worldview to a map. Explain to your family what a worldview is. Ask them if they can figure out how a worldview is similar to a map. If they can’t do this, explain what you learned today!

As a family, draw two maps of your house—one map that is True and another map that is not.

Look at the map that is not correct. Discuss what might happen if someone believed the map was True and used it to get around your house.

How is this similar to a worldview? What might happen if we believe things that are not True about who we are or how we are supposed to live?

7th - 8TH GRADE

This year for 7th and 8th grade Quest will be delving into Proverbs, exploring how to apply biblical wisdom to everyday life. Our goal is to build a strong relationship with God and make Jesus our anchor as we navigate life.

BOYS: Last week we learned who we should avoid and that bad friends lead to bad decisions. Tonight we worked out what makes a great teacher, mentor, and guide. We learned the wisdom in who, besides God, we look to for understanding and guidance as we go through life.

GIRLS: WISDOM SPEAKS (Proverbs 1:20-33) [Week 2]

  • What does it take for Wisdom to redirect a foolish person?

  • Could there be a point of no return regarding foolish and wicked behavior? (vv. 26-32) Why or why not?

  • When is a good time to acquire wisdom?
