LESSON 4: WHAT IS TRUTH?
MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 7:24-27
“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS
This week, we looked at how we figure out if something is True. We discovered that to find Truth we observe the world around us and see if what we observe matches up with God’s Word. This is because God’s Word is our highest authority. If we want to know the Truth, then it is important that we spend time reading God’s Word. You may already spend time as a family reading God’s Word. If you don’t, you should start! Set aside two times this week when you will read God’s Word as a family and discuss it.
7th - 8TH GRADE
This year for 7th and 8th grade Quest will be delving into Proverbs, exploring how to apply biblical wisdom to everyday life. Our goal is to build a strong relationship with God and make Jesus our anchor as we navigate life.
BOYS: For the next two-part series, we’ll be looking at and thinking about how our decisions play out. Wisdom is applied knowledge given by God. Sometimes we make decisions not fully considering the whole picture.
Tonight, we delved into stories of men in the Bible who made bad decision because of their sin and discussed what we may learn from them. Ask your son who stood out to them and why?
GIRLS: PEER PRESSURE (Proverbs 1:10-19) [Week 2]

Courage is doing the right thing despite any fear. What advice is given in verses 10 and 15?
Read verses 17-19. What do you think “spreading a net, birds, and unjust gain” have to do with each other?
What will eventually happen to those choosing to profit from violence? (vv. 18-19)
