KINDER - 4th GRADE

LESSON 3: SIN ENTERED THE WORLD (GENESIS 3:1-24)

MEMORY VERSE: Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (ESV)

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

  • What were the consequences of Adam and Eve’s sin?

  • What are some ways you have sinned?

  • How does Jesus help us with our sin problem? (Jesus paid the full price for sin when He died on the cross so everyone who repents and turns from their sin is forgiven. He gives us power to say no to temptations.)

5TH GRADE

LESSON: RETURN OF JESUS

MEMORY VERSE: Revelation 1:8

“‘I am the Alpha and Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS:

This week we reached the last time period on our biblical timeline as we explored the last days, the rapture of the Church, and Christ’s return to Earth to rule and reign forever!

  • What is the main thing that is happening in Heaven?

  • Why is Jesus called the Lamb?

  • How can your family give Jesus praise and honor?

6th GRADE

LESSON 3: WHO AM I?

MEMORY VERSE: Genesis 1:26-28

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS

This week, we researched what other worldviews believe about humans. As a family, read the summary of each worldview.

Naturalism
If you use the naturalist worldview map as your worldview map, you believe that humans are only physical beings. This means you think that humans only are bodies. We are not souls. The you on the inside is just your brain. The thoughts you think don’t come from a mind. They are just the result of chemicals in your brain. What makes you you is your body. When your body dies, you die. You do not exist anymore. This goes along with your worship of matter. Since you cannot see, hear, taste, smell, or touch a soul, you think that souls are not real. This also goes along with your belief that life began accidentally. You believe that humans are simply animals that accidentally evolved from other animals. Because you are an animal that evolved, it doesn’t matter if you are a boy or a girl. There is nothing special about being male or female.

New Spirituality
If you use the new spiritualist worldview map as your worldview map, you believe that humans are only spiritual beings. Because you worship yourself and believe that you evolved accidentally, you think it is your job to continue evolving. You are not trying to change your body but your soul. You believe that if you follow your heart, you will become the best person you can be. Since you believe you have part of god in you, you think that you know what is best for you. It doesn’tmatter if you are a boy or a girl. What matters is how you feel in your heart.

As a family, discuss what each worldview believes about humans. How might believing these different things affect your choices and behaviors? This week, as you read books, watch movies, and listen to songs, pay attention for any messages about what humans are that may come from one of these worldviews.

As a family, thank God for making you in His image. Pray specifically for naturalists, new spiritualists. Ask that God would soften their hearts to the Truth and give you opportunities to share the Truth with them.

7th - 8TH GRADE

This year for 7th and 8th grade Quest will be delving into Proverbs, exploring how to apply biblical wisdom to everyday life. Our goal is to build a strong relationship with God and make Jesus our anchor as we navigate life.
