SEE WHAT HAPPENED AT YOUTH CONVERGENCE 2017

A WEEKEND OF IMPACTFUL MESSAGES & DECISIONS FOR CHRIST

500 youth from Washington to New Mexico – joined Door Church for the 2017 Youth Convergence taking place over the first part of Labor Day weekend. The band California Aftermath from The Lighthouse Church in Santa Monica, CA opened the rally with raucous renditions of 1980’s rock anthems. During their set, frontman Paul Santos shared his story about getting saved at the 2005 Youth Convergence while standing at the spot that he prayed the sinner’s prayer 12 years ago. Later that evening Ps. Louie Lobato Jr. from Yucca Valley, CA challenged #YCON17 to see through the world’s illusions with a message entitled ‘No Hoax’.

Saturday morning Gabe Rubi, Garett King and Louie Lobato Jr. spoke in the morning session. During the altar call over twenty students responded to a call to be filled with the Holy Spirit with many getting filled. #YCON17 ended with 50 students and adults gathering together to street preach and declare the good news. Almost 50 people responded for salvation over the two-day event.

"12 years ago I got saved at a Youth Convergence. Last night I was reminded of all the failures and brokenness that God has brought me out of. I’m excited to see what God will do in my life and the lives of the people from my church that we were able to bring."

Paul Santos | UCLA Graduate Student / Frontman for California Aftermath

"

I’ve never been filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit. I went up there I was already feeling shaky like I couldn’t speak, and then I spoke in tongues for the very first time!"

Jaime Roman | High School Student

"The “Bold As Lions” statement spoke to me. Around my friends, I’m not the boldest one, especially when it comes to our beliefs. I was inspired to be bolder to not be afraid to talk about Jesus."

Levi Photenhauer | High School Student

I’ve always been a scary movie fanatic and have felt like I was letting evil spirits into my life that had no place there. I haven’t been able to sleep and was desperate for change… As soon as I finished the prayer and said, ‘Amen’ I just felt the blood of Jesus wash over me and I felt so peaceful. I’ve never slept so good in my life. Now I’m going to come to church and I’m going to praise Jesus.”
